Family reunification more strict
The Dutch cabinet proposes measures to sharpen the criteria to qualify for family reunification. Unmarried partners will not be able to qualify for family reunification. Family reunification will be restricted to married and registered partners and their minor children. Only after one year of residency in the Netherlands will it be possible for the sponsor to be able to apply for family reunification. The proposed measures are sent the High Adminstrative Council for advice.
