Per 1 January 2020 spouses of entrepreneurs can work without a work permit
As of 1 January 2020 spouses and (registered) partners of entrepreneurs that hold a Dutch residence permit to work as entrepreneur, can work in regular employment (as employee) without the need to have a work permit. The Dutch Secretary of State of Social Affairs, Mr Koolmees, has published this measure on 11 December 2019 to make the Netherlands more attractive for foreign entrepreneurs from outside the European Union.
