Search period for highly skilled migrants amended
As of 1 July a highly skilled migrant that becomes unemployed has a 3 month search period to find new employment as a highly skilled migrant. The only condition to qualify for this search period is that the residence permit is still valid. It does not matter if he becomes unemployed because he resigned himself, got fired or if the employment contract is terminated through a settlement agreement. Until this policy change the highly skilled migrant only qualified for the 3 month search period if he became unemployed unvoluntarily.
