Dutch Integration exam will become more difficult

The Secretary of State of Social Affairs and Employment has informed the Dutch Parliament on 2 July 2018 that he is planning to amend the current State policy with regard to the integration of foreigners in the Netherlands. One aspect that is important to mention is that the Integration exam will become more difficult. Passing the integration exam is required to apply for a permanent residence permit or the Dutch passport. Under the current Integration exam foreigners must have command of the Dutch language at level A2. This will be raised to B1 level. The Secretary of State strives to implement this change in 2020.
