Visas to work as a start-up in the Netherlands can be applied for as of 1 January 2015. The Alien Act is amended fort his purpose. The start-up visa is issued for a maximum duration of one year. After this year the foreigner must fulfill the conditions for renewal of the permit under the current conditions to work as an entrepreneur. All foreigners participating in the start-up are eligible for the visa. The Secretary of State expects between 10 to 50 applications per year.
The most important conditions to qualify for the start-up visa is that the foreigner has a facilitator with a good track record. And the foreigner must show that his product or service is innovative. The Dutch ministry of Economic Affairs will make this assessment. After two years this new regulation will be evaluated.
